  • Are all your products safe for people with peanut, nut, tree nut, or egg allergies?"
    Yes! We are completely peanut, nut (all nuts including tree nuts) and egg free all of the time. We check for cross contamination issues with all of our ingredients, decorations, and supplies. The owner's son has severe allergies to peanuts, nuts and eggs so we are very thourough and have been for 25 years!
  • Are you sesame free?
    We are sesame free as well! It is not in our slogan only because sesame allergies were not as common when we first started.
  • Can you accommodate a dairy allergy?
    Yes, we make many of our products without dairy as well. The owner's son started out with a dairy allergy so we are very familiar with watching for all of the milk-related items. We do use milk in our facility but we are a small bakery and are all about being safe with food allergies. We handle our dairy-free items separately, wash and santize all equipment and surfaces, and have special labelling procedures to track products in our facility. We will soon have a separate section for ordering online. For now, we have listed dairy-free as an option for any product that we can make without dairy.
  • Do you make gluten-free items?
    We make a gluten-free chocolate cake, chocolate cupcakes, or rice crispy treats. They are available by preorder (see our Order Here page). If you are looking for a variety of gluten-free items or if cross-contamination is an issue, we are not the bakery you are looking for. We are aware that if you search for gluten-free bakeries, our name often comes up. Unfortunately, although we have tried to correct that where we can, most of the time we can not fix it. We specialize in peanut, nut and egg free items and are very careful about cross-contamination for all allergies. To produce gluten-free items that are safe for people with a severe sensitivity to gluten, they should be made in a different facility. Some of our customers, however, need to manage both peanut, nut, and/or egg allergies along with a gluten allergy/sensitivity and cross-contamination is not an issue. For them, we developed our gluten-free chocolate cake, which can also be made dairy and soy free.
  • Do you use coconut in your facility?
    Since the FDA considers coconut to be a nut, we do not have it in our facility.
  • Can I get a list of the ingredients? I need it for my child's school.
    All our products come with ingredient labels. If you need them in advance, please email us. We will send them once your order is confirmed.
  • How do I find out the ingredients in your products?
    All of our products come with ingredient labels. We do not list the ingredients on our website because we alter our recipies to accommodate different allergies. Ingredients also change depending on availability. If you have allergies other than peanut, nut or egg, it works best if you can tell us your allergies and what products you are interested in. We will then let you know what we can do.
  • How do I order?
    We offer three options for ordering: Shop Today's Case, Order Here and Custom Orders. Shop Today's Case is the online way to purchase something from our case. You will see exactly what we have available. Make your selections, pay online, and ta da! You can come in any time before closing. Delivery is available within a 5 miles radius. Please note that we don't take orders over the phone--just through the website. Order Here has a shopping cart feature. You can select from our catalog of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and more. You will be prompted for options when available. Place the items in your cart and checkout. There is no payment at this point--you have submitted an inquiry and we will respond to you with questions or an invoice within 48 hours. Please note we ask for one week's notice for orders and we do not take orders over the phone--just through the website. If you don't see what you are looking for you can submit a Custom Order. Please fill in all the information (you can upload pictures here as well). We will take a look at your request and get back to you within 48 hours. Please note we ask for two weeks' notice for custom orders. If it is less than two weeks until your event, you can order from our catalog under Order Here Please note we do not take orders over the phone. If you have questions, you are welcome to email us or call during our business hours. We would be happy to speak with you and answer your questions.
  • When should I place an order for custom cookies or cakes?
    Because custom orders take longer to process and prepare, we ask for at least two weeks' notice for all custom orders. We recommend that you submit orders as soon as you know the date and at least a general idea of what you need. Weekends fill up quickly and we get swamped during holidays. It is never too early to submit an order. If you need your order sooner than two weeks, please consider products on our standard menu. We only need one week's notice for those items.
  • Why do you send an invoice?  Why can't I just complete the order online?
    We review all orders before accepting them. Sometimes an order is missing information. Sometimes we don't have availability for the order. Some products may not meet the allergy concerns. Once we have all the information and checked our availability, we will send an invoice for you to review. Please make sure everything is accurate before payment. Once an invoice is paid, it is confirmed as written on the invoice.
  • I'd like to pickup my order right when you open.  How do I arrange that?
    Our pickup times start at 930 AM. If that time is greyed out on the day you would like to pick up your order, then that time is no longer available. You can select the next available time or schedule your order for the day before.
  • I'd rather come in and place the order in person, is that an option?"
    We would be happy to talk with you about your order in person or on the phone. However, we will need the order submitted online. We are sticklers for details and accuracy (as we are dealing with life-threatening allergies) and all orders will need to be in writing.
  • I have pictures of the design I'd like.  Can I send them to you?
    Yes, visit our Custom Order page and fill out the form. There are spaces at the bottom to upload your images.
  • I had to change my event date, can I postpone my order?"
    Certainly! We understand that life happens. Please email us as soon as you know that you need to postpone. With enough notice, we will not begin your order until the new date. If your order is in production or has been made, we will work with you do see the best way to store the order. Please let us know the new date as soon as you have it, so we can reserve a space on our calendar.
  • There was a problem with my order, can I get a refund?"
    If the order was made according to the invoice, we will not issue a refund. When you pay for the order, you are confirming that all the details in the invoice are correct. If you make changes after payment, they must be via email. We will do our best to incorporate the changes, but we will not issue refunds for late changes. If the order did not meet all the details of the invoice, we will consider a refund in store credit commensurate with the oversight. When you pickup the order, we show each item to you. That is the time to note any mistakes as we can often fix them. If not, we will consider a store credit for any errors. If you take the order at pickup or receive an order via delivery, you can not receive a full refund even in store credit.
  • I just want a quote for a cake. How do I do that?
    To receive a quote for a cake (or any other item), submit the custom order form. We will need all the information on that form to provide you with a quote. We will get back to you with our availability, questions or an invoice withing 48 hours.
  • I'd like to know if you are available to make a cake for me. Where do I find that out?
    To check our availability, you will need to submit an order--either a Order Here or a Custom Order. We will review your order and get back to you with our availability, questions, or an invoice within 48 hours.
  • Do you ship your products?
    Yes, we ship many of them. Cookies, scones, cake pops and some bar cookies can be shipped. We send our orders out only on Mondays so we recommend that you submit your order two weeks in advance. Our ordering form is not set up for shipping yet. Please choose Pickup on our Order Here page and then explain in the notes that you would like it shipped and include the address. All items available for shipping are marked with a Special star.
  • Can I have my order delivered?
    Yes, we deliver within 100 miles of Manassas. The standard delivery fee is $35. Long distance deliveries or large deliveries may incur additional charges. We will include any additional charges on the invoice, which you will review before payment. To arrange delivery, choose Delivery at the top of the Future Orders page and the time.
  • Do you do same day deliveries?
    Yes! We offer same-day delivery within 5 miles of our shop for the items in our store. To order, click here. This link will take you to our special ordering site for same-day delivery and pickup.
  • Do you have ready-made cakes available in your shop?
    Yes! We have cakes available in the shop for purchase. Limited availability, please stop in or order on our Shop Today's Case page. Each cake is 6", 3 layers, and serves 8-10 people. You can place an order for same-day pick-up here.
  • Do you have items available to purchase in your shop?
    Yes! You can see a description of the types of items we carry in the At The Shop. You can also place an order for same-day pickup or delivery (within 5 miles of the shop) here. Please note we do not take order over the phone, but we are available to answer questions.
  • We have additional allergies besides peanut, nut and egg.  Do you have items available for purchase in the store?"
    We do have our dairy-free/vegan case in the shop filled with an assortment of cupcakes, cookies, cookie cakes, and muffins. All our products are also sesame free. All of our products in the store contain gluten. We offer one gluten-free product (chocolate cake or cupcakes) and that is available by special order only. If you have other allergies, please call or ask upon arrival and we will tell you what would work for your allergies.
